When planning a garden or even landscaping your home’s yard, you should seriously consider the strategic use of bushes. Planting bushes is something of a compromise for some people. Bushes are much larger than flowers and plants, but they’re not nearly as large or slow growing as trees. Often they provide the same beauty though, and sometimes the same benefits you’ll get from trees too.

Roses are tough customers. You need to really take proper care of them to get good results. It is a very taxing, and time consuming activity. But the final result will pay for itself. Roses are the most difficult flower to manage and keep healthy and as they say all good things require high maintenance.

A hedge used as a fence can add to the pleasant appearance of your landscaping. You can use hedges to define property lines and add create beauty to your landscaping project. Define walkways through your garden or gazebo. Combining different species of bushes with a variety of blooms and greenery to the outside of your home will allow you not only privacy but also cut down on traffic and other noises that you experience daily. Hedges are also a great way to hide unsightly areas around your property.

Annuals are plants that experience their entire life cycle throughout one growing season. In other words, from the seed, to bloom, to setting seed - all happens in one “cycle”. It is nature’s way of safeguarding against poor growing conditions due to extreme cold weather or long drought seasons. Annuals are able to withstand these harsh conditions until the time is right and will germinate immediately when the opportunity presents itself.

When you buy a container of plants at the store, it’s usually not a good idea to simply leave the arrangement as is for too long. Most store bought container plants have already outgrown the container they were planted in. The stores want these to look full and lush, because they sell better that way. But unfortunately they don’t live well that way.
Since the container is over crowded, the plants have little room to breath let alone grow. So if left in the container as you bought them, the plants are likely to die not long after you’ve brought them home.

If your garden has insects and bugs that are proving to be damaging, you can easily eliminate them by dousing your plants with different types of chemicals. However, this type of practice will not only kill the harmful insects and bugs but it will also get rid of the good bugs and other living organisms that visit your yard.
For instance, spraying poison on caterpillars that eat your flowers will also get rid of the welcomed butterflies that hover around your garden. Similarly, there will be no lovely songbirds to greet you if your garden does not provide them with bugs for their next meal.

Watering your roses is a tricky business and one of the most important aspects of taking care of your roses. Roses need lots of water to stay healthy like people. Of course there are quite a few things that must be considered before you water your roses.
· Roses need more water during the hotter weather than during the colder ones. Heat makes the soil dry faster and the roses get "thirstier". So regularly water them in summer.
